Impact of Land Use Change on Hydrology and Land Use Pattern in West Java Region

The main inputs of this research were rainfall, land cover level, and soil physical condition. These three components were designed by GenRiver Model of River Flow Generic which were developed based on hydrological process (based model process). Simulation of GenRiver model uses Stella, a software that is connected with Microsoft Excel. Its main outputs are river flow and water balance for four watersheds scale. These data were analyzed using the most commonly used technique for spatial commercial assessment. Each datum can provide different pixel sizes, temporal frequencies, financial costs and levels of technical complexities. These data can be used to predict the impact of land use change on hydrological condition and on land use pattern along the four watersheds. Land use change within two decades significantly affected the hydrological condition. In addition, land use change resulted in the formation of more patches pattern than before. The northern part has a faster acceleration of land use change compared to the southern part in the last two decades. The Conversion of Land Use and its Effects (CLUE-s) model comprises two parts: a non spatial demand module and a spatially explicit allocation procedure.
