The Asian Forum on Business Education (AFBE) was established late in 1992 as a mutual self-help group of business schools in – or interested in Asia. These schools all wanted to improve the quality of business education they provide. They consider co-operation and collaboration with like-minded business schools in other countries to be critical, particularly in relation to international business. This forum conducts International conference every year. The purpose of the conference is to consider the need for, and possible establishment of, a group to assist in this internationalization of business education in Asia.

After the hit of Asian Economic Crisis in 1997/1998, the Asian economy has recovered and some countries have shown relatively high economic growth. However, in 2007/2008 the global economic crisis that started in USA cannot be avoided and finally has influenced the Asian economy. Some businesses received the impacts and become collapsed, especially the financial sector. So it is agreed, that the chosen theme for the 14th AFBE International Conference is: ‘The Effect of the Global Economic Crisis on Business in Southeast Asia’.

The previous conferences have been held in various cities in Asia such as Bangkok, Beijing, Melbourne, Ho Chi Minh City, Phuket, Hongkong, Chiang Rai, Beijing, Sanghai, Ubon Ratchatani, Hanoi, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur. The 14th AFBE International conference will be organized by Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia. Bogor Agricultural University is one of prominent universities in Indonesia with some famous programs such as Agribusiness program under Department of Agribusiness.

Hi Everybody

Definitions for global warming are most often disregarded as too scientific – however, earthquakes and mass death should not be another disregarded statistic. Hundreds of thousads are dead and homeless
